The Dillon Wildcats battled their way to a 7-6 win over Waccamaw on Tuesday and traveled to Marion for a 16-0 shut out win on Friday night in varsity baseball action.

In Tuesday’s game against the Warriors, the Wildcats earned four runs in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 6-1 lead, but Waccamaw added three in the sixth and two in the seventh to tie the game. Dillon’s Joseph Scott scored in the eighth to give the Wildcats the win.

On the mound for Dillon, Ethan Hayes pitched four innings and faced 21 batters for four hits, five walks, one earned run, and five outs. Weston Bailey pitched four innings and faced 21 batters for six hits, two walks, five runs, and eight outs.

For Waccamaw, Tucker Perry pitched 5.6 innings and faced 27 batters for nine hits, six runs, one walk, and six outs. Zac Sparaco pitched 1.3 innings for one hit, one run, two walks, and three outs.

At bat, Weston Bailey went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs scored; Duncan Callahan went 2-for-4 with one run; Patrick Herring went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, one run, and one RBI; Ethan Hayes went 2-for-3 with one run, two stolen bases and three RBI; Kaleb Page went 1-for-4 with one run; and Joseph Scott went 2-for-3 with one run, two RBI, and three stolen bases.

At bat for Waccamaw, Justin Colgrave went 3-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base, one RBI and one run scored; Andrew Richert went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base, and one run scored; Levi Almond went 2-for-4 with one RBI; Scott Hiler went 1-for-4 with a stolen base; Justin Busby went 1-for-3 with one run, two stolen bases, and one RBI; Curtis Lawing went 1-for-1 with one run; and Jack Monroe reached on three walks with two stolen bases and two runs scored for the Warriors.

Patrick Herring made 13 put outs in the field for the Wildcats; Joseph Scott and Jarvis Graves each made three; Ethan Hayes and Austin Moody each made two; and Dekendrick Graves made one. Joseph Scott also made two assists in the field, and Ethan Hayes made one.

On Friday, the Wildcats traveled to Marion for a 16-0 shut out win in five innings.

Joseph Scott pitched all five innings for four hits, one walk, and one out. Marion’s King took the loss, pitching 4.3 innings for 13 hits, 12 runs, 11 earned runs, two walks, and three outs.

At bat for the Wildcats, Duncan Callahan went 3-for-4 with three RBI; Patrick Herring went 2-for-4 with two RBI; Austin Moody went 3-for-3 with two RBI; and Charles Sowells went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The Wildcats improved to 10-1 overall and are now 6-0 in Region 8-2A.

Dillon was scheduled to travel to Mullins tonight at 6:30 and will be at Waccamaw on Thursday night.
