The Latta Vikings shut down Creek Bridge in a double header on Thursday night in Latta, defeating the Warriors 20-0 in game one and 21-2 in game two.
In game one, the Vikings took a 13-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added seven in the second to seal the win after three innings.
Colby Lee earned the win for Latta, pitching all three innings for a no-hitter, striking out eight. K. Norman took the loss for Creek Bridge.
Lee also went 2-for-2 with three RBI at bat for Latta. Donell Stanley had one home run hit for two RBI; Aaren Hyatt went 2-for-2 with two RBI; and Avery Berry had one hit for the Vikings. Latta had a total off 11 hits in the win.
In game two, Latta scored one run in the bottom of the first and added 20 in the bottom of the second for the 21-2 win. Creek Bridge scored both their runs in the top of the third.
Josh Bowen got the win on the mound, pitching all three innings for two hits, two runs, one walk, and five outs. K. Hughes took the loss for Creek Bridge, pitching two innings for one out.
Bowen also went 3-for-3 with two RBI at bat for Latta. Eric McGirt went 2-for-2 with five RBI; Jackson Williams went 2-for-3 with two RBI; Austin Miller had two hits for the Vikings; and Aubrey Brunson picked up two RBI.
The Vikings improved to 8-2 in the regular season and hold a 4-1 record in Region 8-A.
Latta is scheduled to host Johnsonville tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will be away on Thursday to face McBee. Then on Friday, the Vikings will be back home to host Green Sea Floyds at 5:30 p.m.
