Both the Dillon Wildcats and the Latta Vikings were ranked in the top 10 in this week’s South Carolina Baseball Coaches polls.

In Class A, the Vikings were ranked second in the state behind St. Joseph’s, while Johnsonville took fifth place. Lewisville and Fox Creek were ranked third and forth, and Dixie, East Clarendon, Southside Christian, McBee, and Lamar rounded out the rest of the top 10.

In Class 2A, Dillon was ranked eighth in the state. Chesnee took the top spot, followed by Mid-Carolina, Liberty and Bishop England. Waccamaw and Ninety-Six tied for fifth place, and Loris was ranked seventh. The Wildcats will face Loris on the road this Friday and will host Waccamaw next Monday.

Batesburg-Leesville and Central were ranked ninth and tenth.

In Class 3A, AC Flora topped the list, followed by Greenville, Wren, Socastee, and Belton-Honea Path, Berkeley, and James Island. Darlington was ranked eighth and St. James took ninth.

In Class 4A, Sumter was ranked number one, followed by Summerville, Lexington, Blythewood, and West Ashley in the top five.
