Amtrak Silver Meteor Train 97 broke down in Dillon County for more than nine hours on Monday at Red and Stateline Roads in the Hamer area.
The train broke down at 4 a.m. and began moving again at 1:15  p.m. It was traveling from New York.
The train’s engine reportedly had operational issues.
