Dillon’s Lady Wildcats clinched the Region 8-2A title this weekend with a 61-26 win over Marion on Friday and an 80-35 win over Aynor on Saturday.

On Friday, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Marion and picked up a 61-26 win over the Lady Swamp Foxes. Dillon took a 9-2 lead in the first quarter and went 15-9 and 13-8 in the second and third before sealing the win 24-7 in the fourth.

Tyshanna Lester scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Wildcats with Brianna Lee earning 12 and Yolanda Campbell and Da’Kerhia Samuel each adding 11 points. Tejah Breeden earned four points; Kendra McLeod scored three; and Khamele Manning and Na’Kedra Page each added two with Shar’asia Samuel earning one.

Shatoria Dunkin and Shayriah Johnson led Marion with five points each, and LaQuasha Kinney and Z. Mason each earned four. LaQuasha Williams, Kyra Daniels, Lonesha Bethea, and Immani Vereen each earned two.

On Saturday, the Wildcats traveled to Aynor and picked up an 80-35 win over the Blue Jackets. Dillon jumped ahead 27-5 in the first quarter and went 25-10 in the second to lead 52-15 at the half. The Lady Wildcats were 17-12 in the third and sealed the win with an 11-8 fourth quarter.

Tyshanna Lester earned a game-high 24 points and Yolanda Campbell scored 18 to lead the Wildcats in the win. Lester also made 15 steals with 10 rebounds and five assists, while Campbell picked up 12 rebounds. Khamele Manning added eight points, and Brianna Lee, Nakedra Page, and Shar’asia Samuel each earned six. Tejah Breeden, Cali McRae, and Da’Kerhia Samuel each earned four points, and Jelissa Fentzlaff added two.

Ayawana Deas led the Blue Jackets with 12 points. Alexis Rogers scored 7; Kayla Gerald, 6; Elle Griffin, 5; Anna Kroger, 4; and Madison Barton earned one point.

The Wildcats are now 21-0 overall and 9-0 in Region 8-2A and have clinched the region title for the first time since 2006. The Lady Wildcats will now have homecourt advantage heading into the playoffs, and Dillon can record its first perfect regular season with wins over Loris and Waccamaw this week.

Mullins, 6-2 in Region 8-2A, will likely take second this week if it wins at least one of its two remaining games. Marion is in third at 3-4, and Waccamaw is currently in fourth place.

Dillon was scheduled to travel to Loris on Monday night and was scheduled to travel to Waccamaw on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season.
