The Dillon Wildcats earned a 67-55 win over Waccamaw in Saturday’s makeup game against the Warriors.

Dillon took a 15-5 lead in the first quarter, but the Warriors rallied 19-16 in the second to trail 31-24 at the half. The Wildcats improved their lead with an 18-14 third quarter, and held off Waccamaw 18-17 in the fourth to secure the win.

Jalik Bethea led all scorers with a game-high 22 points and Eri’Reon Hayes added 17 for the Wildcats. Jaquan Knowlin scored eight points; Julius Saunders added seven; Joe Manning scored five; Sharif Myers earned four; and Tyreik McAllister and Gabe Salmon, Jr. each added two in the win.

Rob Ferraro earned 17 points to lead Waccamaw and Adonis Williams added 15 in the effort. Jemon Samlls scored 8; Justin Busby, 5; Jack Dwyer, 4; Stephon Funnye, 4; and Justin Hardee, 2.

Dillon improved to 14-4 with the win and 3-2 in Region 8-2A.

The Wildcats are scheduled to host Mullins tonight at 6:00 p.m. Mullins took the lead in the region on Saturday with a 70-67 win over Marion, giving the Auctioneers a 5-0 in region play. Marion slips to 4-1 for second place.

Dillon will spend the rest of the regular season on the road, traveling to Marion on Friday, and Loris and Waccamaw next week. Dillon is also scheduled to makeup their game against Aynor on Saturday, February 8, at 3:00 p.m.
