The Dillon Christian School Warriors battled their way to a 50-47 overtime win over the Robert E. Lee Cavaliers on Friday night in varsity boys basketball action in Bishopville, SC.

The Cavaliers took a 15-7 lead in the first quarter and outscored Dillon 19-3 in the second for a 34-10 lead at the half. but the Warriors rallied in the third to out pace the Cavaliers 14-4 and tied the game at 43 with a 19-5 fourth quarter, forcing it into overtime. The Warriors went 7-4 over the Cavaliers in overtime with Dillon Christian’s Tyler Davis sinking two free throws with less than a minute on the clock to secure the win.

Davis led the Warriors with a game-high 21 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. Mark Minges added 11 points in the win with four rebounds, and Will Brown scored 10 points with three rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Luke Price earned three points with five rebounds and an assist, and Jim Carr added three points with two assists and one rebound. Matthew Price contributed two points with six rebounds, a steal, and an assist, and Matt Jordan picked up a defensive rebound for the Warriors.

Dillon Christian improved to 7-4 overall with the win and 5-4 in SCISA Region 4-2A.

The Warriors were scheduled to host Williamsburg Academy on Tuesday and on Friday, they host Trinity-Byrnes. The action begins with junior varsity girls and boys basketball at 4:00 p.m. followed by varsity girls and boys action. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
