The Dillon Christian School Warriors traveled to Mullins Friday night for a region game against the Golden Eagles of Pee Dee Academy with the Warriors coming away with a 64-55 victory over their top rival.
The first half was a battle that ended with the first quarter even at 9-9 and the halftime break also tied up at 18-18. The Warriors got hot in the third period and pulled ahead 42-33 and managed to keep this nine point lead in the fourth period for the 64-55 win.
On the board for the Warriors, Tyler Davis had 37 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots; Will Brown scored 10 points with two rebounds, five assists, and a steal; Jim Carr earned seven points with two rebounds, three assists, and two steals; Mark Minges added five points with 10 rebounds, two assists, and a blocked shot; Thomas Evans scored three points with four rebounds and an assist; Matthew Price added two points with 11 rebounds, two steals, and two assists; Luke Price grabbed seven rebounds with two assists and a steal; and Matt Jordan picked up two rebounds with an assist.
Head Coach Timothy Smith reports that the team record is 6-3 and that Tyler Davis is averaging just over 22 points per game at this point in the season.
The Warriors will travel to Marlboro Academy tonight for a region game with the Dragons and will be on the road again Friday in Bishopville as they play a non-region game with the Robert E. Lee Cavaliers with JV game times starting at 4:00 p.m.
