The Dillon Wildcats earned a 93-43 win over South Robeson on Wednesday night and a 59-48 win over the Latta Vikings at home on Friday night in varsity basketball action.

The Wildcats took a 20-13 lead over the Mustangs in the first quarter on Tuesday and outscored South Robeson 32-6 in the second quarter and 25-14 in the third before sealing the win with a 16-10 fourth quarter.

Eri’Reon Hays scored a game-high 29 points in the win, with Joe Manning adding 19 and Gabe Salmon, Jr., adding 15. JaQuan Knowlin scored 9; Avery McCall, 8; Tyreik McAllister, 3; Anthony Blue, 2; Julius Saunders, 3; Jerome McLeod, 2; and Sharif Myers, 3.

South Robeson’s Reggie Scippio led the Mustangs with 13 points. Devonte Banks added 10; Jones, 6; Strickland, 4; Worley, 3; Sinclair, 3; Stanley, 2; and McCallum, 2.

On Friday night, Dillon took a 21-8 lead over the Vikings in the first quarter and led 34-19 at the half. But Latta rallied behind Tyrell Sabb and Kartilus McFadden in the third quarter to outscore Dillon 26-16 and close the gap to 50-45. But Dillon held Latta at bay 9-3 in the fourth quarter to seal the 59-48 win for the Wildcats.

Dillon was led by Eri’Reon Hayes with a team-high 16 points and Julius Saunders with 10. Gabe Salmon, Jr., added nine points; Knowlin, 6; Manning, 4; Crouch, 4; McAllister, 3; Blue, 3; McLeod, 2; and Myers, 1.

Tyrell Sabb scored a game-high 19 points to lead Latta in the effort, and picked up 11 rebounds. Kartilus McFadden added 12 points for the Vikings, and R.J. McClam scored 5; Sims, 6; Mace, 2; Smith, 2; and Mungro, 2.

The Wildcats improved to 11-2 with the win, while Latta slips to 1-5. Both teams open region play tonight, with Dillon set to host Aynor and Latta scheduled to host Creek Bridge. Both games begin at 6:00 p.m.
