The fans at Warrior Gymnasium were kept on the edge of their seats Friday night as the Warriors and the Bobcats of Carolina Academy battled it out in a region match that ended with the Warriors hanging onto a one point victory with a final score of 53-52.

The first quarter ended with the Warriors out front 13-10 and 27-25 at the half time break. The Bobcats had the edge at the end of the third quarter as they were up 38-37. The fourth quarter was a see-saw battle that ended at the right time for the Warriors with the lead in their favor.

Scoring for the Bobcats was Connor Floyd with 13 points; Hunter Belue with 10 points; Ken Parker with nine points; Keith McKenzie with eight points; Zack Hill with two points; and Garrett Weaver added one point.

Tyler Davis led the Warriors with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Will Brown made 11 points with two rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots; Jim Carr scored six points with four assists and a rebound; Mark Minges made five points with four rebounds and an assist; Thomas Evans earned two points with a rebound; Luke Price grabbed seven rebounds with three assists; Matt Jordan picked up four rebounds with two assists; and Matthew Price added three rebounds.

Dillon Christian improved to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in SCISA Region 4-2A.

The Warriors will host The King’s Academy tonight with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m. On Friday, the Warriors will travel to Pee Dee Academy, and on Tuesday, January 21, the Warriors will be on the road to face Marlboro Academy.
