Dillon Christian School presented its annual Praise Him concert on Monday evening, December 9th, in the DCS Gymnasium.  The program was entitled, O Little Town of Bethlehem.
Upon arrival into the gym a number of student volunteers beautifully participated in a live nativity scene which included live animals, and little Noah Norton as baby Jesus.  It was truly a very moving and humbling display of what that wondrous night must have been like after the birth of our Savior.
A Prelude began at 6:00 P.M. which included a number of individual students and the DCS Ensemble performing selections of beautiful Christmas carols.  The program, O Little Town of Bethlehem, began at 6:30 P.M. as Dr. John Bumgardner opened the program with prayer.
The student body, K5-12th grades, performed a number of favorite traditional Christmas carols.  Five of our high school student body narrated the Christmas story from the Bible as student volunteers participated in an indoor live nativity scene with little Ryan Elliott as Baby Jesus.
Sixteen members from the DCS Faculty and Staff also took part in this year’s program, as they sang beautifully,” O Holy Night” during the offertory.
As the program came to an end, the packed gymnasium sang along with the student body, “Joy To The World”.  The voices resonated throughout the gymnasium.  It was a glorious time of praise and celebration of our Savior’s birth.  Our God was honored and glorified!  That was our heart’s desire.  Dr. Michael Brown, Chairman of the DCS Board, closed the program with a thankful heart-filled prayer.
