James Michael Kirby died Friday November 1, 2013 at his residence after a long illness.
Mr.Kirby, 54, was born in Dillon County October 18, 1959 the son of the late James David Kirby and Elizabeth Barfield Kirby. Mike graduated from Florence Darlington Tech where he received  an associate degree in Radiology.  He was employed by Dillon Family Medicine as CT tech and Radiology supervisor until his retirement January 1, 2013.  Mike enjoyed sports and fishing but NASCAR was his favorite and he was an avid collector of NASCAR memoribilia.
Survivors include his sister, Pamela Kirby Phillip of Colorado Springs, CO.; niece, Kylie and nephew, James; his aunt, Luverne Barfield of Latta;  his faithful companion for many years was his dog, “Biskit”.  Also included are his ex-wife, Darlyn M. Godwin of Florence and her parents, Wendell & Edna Miller of Lake View.
