Latta’s Donell Stanley was named Class A Lower State Lineman of the Year and Dillon’s Damu Ford was named Class 2A Lower State Back of the Year by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association.

Stanley, one of South Carolina’s top prospects, recently committed to play for the University of South Carolina. He leads the Vikings in tackles and sacks and is a Shrine Bowl selection and was also chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American game.

Ford leads the Wildcats in tackles with 68 so far this season. He is also a Shrine Bowl selection.

In addition, Latta’s Head Coach Kelly Williamson was named Class A Lower State Coach of the Year, and Dillon Head Coach Jackie Hayes was chosen as Class 2A Lower State Coach of the Year.

The coaches and players will receive their awards at a banquet in Columbia on Thursday, December 5.

In Class 2A, Upper State Coach of the Year went to Lynn Fleming and Back of the Year went to Darius Proctor, both of Chesnee. Isaiah Cullum of Batesburg-Leesville was Upper State Lineman of the Year, and Kevin Crosby of Bamberg-Ehrhardt was named Lower State Lineman of the Year. Pendleton’s Alex Haynes was chosen as Specialist of the Year.

In Class A, Christ Church swept the honors with Larry Frost named Upper State Coach of the Year, Quan White as Back of the Year, Luke Posta as Lineman of the Year, and Mac McCall as Specialist of the Year. Oceanez Fluitt of C.E. Murray rounded out the list as Lower State Back of the Year.
