The Latta School Board of Trustees met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 8. Trustees present were: Kyle Berry, Edward Bethea, Kenneth Kitts and Eddie Watson. Janice Boatwright, Linda James and Betty Jo Johnson were absent.
Edward Bethea welcomed all present and Dr. John Kirby opened with prayer.
There being no corrections or additions to the September 10, 2013 minutes, Edward Bethea ruled that they stand approved.
Principal George Liebenrood gave an update on Policy IJNDAA and IJNDAA-R drafts.
Donna Taylor presented the status report for August on the General Fund budget and a preliminary audit update. The audit will be presented at the November board meeting.
Esther Rogers presented the End of Course Exam results.
Dr. Kirby presented the Exceptional Children’s Update report, an update on Operations, the Transportation Report, and the Food Service Report.  Dr. Kirby gave an update on drugs in school and school rank listing by district enrollment.
Motion was made by Eddie Watson and seconded by Kyle Berry to accept first reading and waive second reading of the following policies:
• EC – Building/Grounds/Property Management
• ECB – Buildings and Ground Maintenance
• EBCB – Safety Drills
• FA – Facilities Development Goals/Priority Objectives
• FB – Facilities Planning
Vote was unanimous.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Kyle Berry and seconded by Kenneth Kitts. Vote was unanimous.
