Latta students, Samuel Howell and Briana Williams, had perfect scores on portions of their 2013 state standardized test, Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS). Howell, while a fifth grader at Latta Elementary School, scored a perfect 860 on Writing as well as a perfect 849 on English Language Arts. Williams scored a perfect 827 on the English Language Arts portion of the seventh grade assessment.
