Edwin Lee “Mac” McInnis, Jr., 91, passed away Sept. 9, 2013.
He was born May 29, 1922 in Clio, SC and entered the US Navy in 1939, serving proudly for 27 years and retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He and his family chose to reside in Jacksonville where he assumed the duties of Quality Assurance and Training Manager at Jacksonville Shipyards. In this capacity he worked cooperatively with local schools to design programs to train skilled tradespeople.
Mac is survived by his son, Edwin “Pete” McInnis, III; grandchildren, Ian Christopher, Molly Kathleen and Karen Frances. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Pat.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at the Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Little Rock, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
