The Dillon Wildcats hosted Lake View for junior varsity and varsity volleyball action on Monday, September 9, with the Lady ’Cats picking up wins.
In the junior varsity game, the Wildcats won with scores of 25-11 and 25-17.
In the varsity game, the Wildcats swept the Lady Gators 3-0 with scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-6.
Da’Kerhia Samuel led Dillon with eight kills and Breana Park made five kills and three blocks. Rebecca Callahan made 17 assists and Shayna Covington made 12 digs. Taylor Price made 11 digs and four aces, and Leah McMillan made three aces.
Park scored 12 points for the Wildcats; Price, 11; and McMillan, 10.
On Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats traveled to South Robeson with the junior varsity girls winning 2-1 with scores of 19-25, 25-3, and 25-19. The varsity Wildcats won 3-0 with scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-16.
Both the varsity and JV Wildcats start the season with 2-0 records.
The Wildcats will be at Aynor tonight at 6:30 p.m. for their first region game of the season. Dillon will be back home to host Mullins on Tuesday, September 17, and Marion on Thursday, September 19, with both games set to start at 6:00 p.m.
Lake View was scheduled to travel to Mullins on Wednesday and will be back home to host Marion on Monday, September 16.
