More than 100 people gathered at the Dillon City-County Complex on Wednesday, September 11 to remember the tragedy 12 years ago and to honor local first responders. State Trooper Bobby Faircloth, Sheriff Major Hulon, Dillon Police Chief Joe Rogers, Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore, and Lake View Police Chief James McDaniels spoke along with Judge James E. Lockemy, Rev. Chris Alderman, and Pastor Haywood Proctor. The Lake View Community Choir provided music and the Justice Rangers laid a wreath to honor the fallen.
