Dillon County First Steps is extremely happy to announce that our Parents as Teachers Program has successfully completed another year with one of Dillon County’s highest level program in the nation, Parents as Teachers Home Visitation Program for Early Childhood Education.
During the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 the Parents as Teachers Program focused on four components:
·  Weekly Personal home visits by Certified Parent Educators, Mrs. Shantel McRae and Mrs. Stephanie Howell
· Monthly Parent Group Meetings about Early Childhood Development and Parenting
· Development and health screening for young children
· Linkages and referrals to community networks and resources
599 visits were made, 896 Books and 392 Toys were given in caring our mandate for the Parents as Teachers Program.
