McLeod Physician Associates and McLeod Medical Center Dillon are pleased to announce that Iacob Marcovici, M.D. has joined McLeod OB/GYN Dillon.
Dr. Marcovici received his degree in medicine from Medical School of The Hebrew University and Hadassah, Jerusalem, Israel. He completed a Residency at Obstetrics & Gynecology in Israel; Obstetrics & Gynecology, Aultman Hospital, North Eastern Ohio College of Medicine, Canton, Ohio; and Obstetrics & Gynecology, University of Illinois at Chicago.
“I remember years ago, as a medical student, while rotating through different departments and learning about internal medicine, surgery, urology and so on, that I liked each of them. When I did my OB/GYN rotation I realized that this is a field where knowledge from other disciplines converges. The field of OB/GYN is very diverse and will always be interesting to me. Also, in the labor and delivery room, I shared with the family and health care team joyful and precious moments when a baby was born. I became hooked to the OB/GYN profession.
“My professional experience goes back almost 30 years,” he explained. “I did an OB/GYN residency in Israel and again in the USA. I have practiced in community hospitals and university settings, both of which I enjoy. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to take care of individuals with different backgrounds. I am compassionate about the care I provide and always treat each person with respect and dignity.”
With many years of training and clinical and surgical experience, Dr. Marcovici integrates a compassionate and personal approach with modern, cutting edge technologies that allow him to provide the best care. Practicing OB/GYN for more than 20 years and delivering thousands of newborns, Dr. Marcovici has interest in other areas of women’s health, such as urinary incontinence, Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery. He also has extensive Cosmetic Surgery/Medical Spa experience which he intends to bring to the Dillon area. These procedures can be found at www.drmarcovici.com.
Dr. Marcovici says Dillon, SC, is a beautiful town with charming southern hospitality and a warmer climate. He explains, “McLeod Dillon is a solid medical institution with a great reputation.”
Dr. Marcovici is a native of Romania/Israel. He speaks four different languages: English, French, Romanian and Hebrew. He and his wife, Irene, will be relocating to Dillon from Avon, CT, where he most recently practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology with Aesthetic Medical Center, LLC.
