Dillon’s All Stars fell 5-4 to Marion on Friday night to be eliminated from the 2013 Dixie Youth Baseball District AAA Minor League Sub-District Tournament, with Delmae defeating Marion on Saturday to claim the tournament championship.

Dillon took a 1-0 lead in the first inning against Marion on Friday and improved to 3-0 in the top of the third. With two outs in the bottom of the inning, Dillon’s pitcher threw six straight balls to load the bases. Dillon swapped pitcher’s before the end of the inning but not before Marion scored four runners to take a 4-3 lead. Dillon tied things in the top of the fourth, and with the bases loaded, Dillon hit a hard grounder to second and was tagged out at first to end the inning. Neither team would cross the plate again until the bottom of the sixth, when Marion scored the winning run to advance to the championship.

Delmae of Florence was undefeated headed into Friday’s games and remained undefeated, eliminating McLeod Park in a one-run thriller to advance to the championship on Saturday against Marion. Delmae shut out the Marion All Stars 10-0 for the title.
