Gordon Elementary School was very fortunate to receive thousands of books as part of a “Summer Read” Initiative in the state of South Carolina.
Each student selected eight books of his or her choice to read over the summer, and then keep for themselves.
In order to encourage the students to get involved in these books, Gordon will be having two sessions this summer where students can come out and discuss the books they are reading. The next session will be held Tuesday, July 9th, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. These sessions will be held in the media center at Gordon Elementary School and are open to all rising 5th graders! Reading is a top priority at Gordon Elementary! We want all of our students to be expert readers!
