Latta’s Donell Stanley has accepted an invitation to play at the Under Armour All-America game on January 2, 2014, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Stanley, who has 16 offers from Division I college programs, says he will announced his decision during the game. Stanley is ranked as a four-star recruit and is the top prospect in South Carolina. Rivals.com ranks him as 43rd in the United States and sixth-best offensive tackle.
Stanley will be the first local player to appear in the Under Armour All-America football game. Jamie Callahan previously appeared in the Under Armour All America baseball game in 2011.
The Under Armour All-America game is now in its seventh year and includes top players from around the country. Kevin Crosby, a tight end from Bamberg-Ehrhardt, SC, and a South Carolina commitment, was also selected to play.
Stanley had also been invited to play in the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio, Texas, but chose the Under Armor game, which will be televised on ESPN and ESPNU.
