The public is warned about a phone scam that has been occurring.
Someone calls and identifies themselves as a parcel service driver and asks if the person is going to be home. He tells them they have won a well-known sweepstakes and that he is bringing their new car and a check. This is a scam.
If you experience telemarketing fraud of any type, report it online to the FTC or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).
