The Dillon Wildcats fell 6-5 to Loris in extra innings in the Class AA lower state baseball playoffs on Wednesday.

Dillon scored one run in the top of the first, but Loris responded with four in the bottom of the inning for a 4-1 lead. The Wildcats tied things up with three runs in the top of the third, but Loris pulled ahead again with one in the bottom of the fourth. Dillon again tied things up with a run in the top of the seventh to force extra innings, but Loris’s Austin Horde bunted to score Desmond Dozier and give the Lions the 6-5 win.

Tanner Chock got the win, pitching two innings for one run, two hits, and one walk while striking out four. Weston Bailey took the loss for Dillon.

The Wildcats had nine hits, with Omar McCollum, Austin Huggins, and Patrick herring each going 2-for-4.
Ryan Bellamy and Tanner Cox each went 2-for-4 for Loris and Tanner Chock went 2-for-3.

The Lions advanced to the lower state championship game on Friday, where they fell 2-1 to Bishop England.

The Battling Bishops advanced to the state series, where they will face Upper State Champion Chesnee. Chesnee was scheduled to host game one on Monday and Bishop England will host game two on Wednesday.
