The Dillon Wildcats defeated Woodland 7-4 on Monday night in Dorchester to advance in the Class AA lower state baseball playoffs.
Weston Bailey earned the win, pitching 5.3 innings and allowing just one hit while striking out six.
Bailey also picked up three RBIs in the win, and Kyle Britt hit two solo homers. Tripp Wallace and Thomas Grossetti each picked up a runner and Duncan Callahan had two hits for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats were scheduled to travel to Loris on Wednesday night to face the Lions in another elimination bracket game. The winner will face Bishop England on Friday for the lower state title.
The Battling Bishops claimed a 4-1 win over Silver Bluff for the District V title before defeating Woodland 4-1 on Saturday in the first round of lower state playoffs. Bishop England downed Loris 3-1 on Monday to advance to the lower state championship.
