Dillon’s Lady Wildcats shut out the visiting Green Sea-Floyds Trojans on Wednesday, April 10, but fell 4-5 to Waccamaw on Thursday.
Dillon took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second and added one run each in the third fourth, and sixth while holding off the Trojans to claim the win.
Taylor Price pitched six innings for Dillon, allowing just two hits with one walk and three outs. Hope Elliott took the loss, pitching four innings for six hits, four runs, three earned runs, one walk, and two outs.
Makayla Drake led Dillon at bat, going 2-for-3, and Da’Kerhia Samuel went 1-for-2 with a double. The Wildcats had six hits and two errors in the win, while Green Sea had two hits and three errors.
On Thursday, both Dillon teams traveled to Waccamaw, where both teams took losses from the Warriors. The Lady Wildcats fell 5-4, while the boys took an 11-1 loss in varsity baseball action.
The Lady Wildcats are now 15-2 overall and 7-1 in Region 8-A in varsity softball. The Wildcat boys are now 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the region.
The Dillon ladies were scheduled to host Lake View on Monday, and both Dillon teams will be at Aynor tonight at 6:30 p.m. Aynor is currently at the top of the region in baseball action with Dillon giving the Blue Jackets their only region loss of the season, so a win for the Wildcats could help decide the region championship.
