The week of March 18 – 21, The Home Mission Team of Dillon Christian School, had the privilege to serve in local mission opportunities.
On Monday, March 18, The team was able to serve with Impact Ministries out of Myrtle Beach, by doing construction work on a transitional shelter in Loris, SC.
The team served alongside College Students from Carson Newman University out of Tennessee. The team tore down walls, removed door moldings and assisted in the constructing six rooms for ladies who are without homes, and who have no other place safe to live.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, the team traveled to North Myrtle Beach with approximately 12 dozen chocolate chip cookies and walked the strand giving out cookies and offering to pray for the Hotel workers, Taxi drivers and restaurant workers. The team was able to interact and show God’s love to people who are sometimes unnoticed in the world.
On Wednesday, The team along with the Eleventh Grade students from DCS traveled to Camp PineHill where we were able to help with construction, Grounds Keeping, and other service projects. ON Thursday, March 21, 2013, The Mission Team served with OM Ships out of Florence, sorting books in order for them to be sent to the Cargo Ships and taken to ports of call around the world.
