The SC Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW) has evaluated its current operations and determined that the number of individuals accessing unemployment insurance (UI) services is no longer sufficient to justify the deployment of staff at two SC Works affiliate centers in the Pee Dee Region (Dillon and Chesterfield).
As a result, February 15 will be the last day that in-person Unemployment Insurance (UI) assistance will be provided at the SC Works Dillon office.
However, through partner collaboration, the Dillon SC Works Center will remain open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Customers who need to file initial unemployment claims online, conduct job search activities, and access other self-service activities in the Center’s computer lab, will continue to have access to those services, with limited assistance provided by remaining center staff.
Customers who have questions or need assistance that requires the specific expertise of UI staff will be required to visit the SC Works Center located at 2413 East Highway 76 in Marion or call 423-6900.
All claimants impacted by this change have been notified and provided alternative addresses and phone numbers to call for UI staff assistance.
