Dillon County residents who wish to use the 11 convenience (trash) sites in Dillon County will soon have to have a decal to be admitted to the site.
Effective March 1st, all citizens who wish to use the Dillon County convenience (trash) sites/recycling centers will be required to display a decal on their vehicle. This is free to residents who already pay the $90 solid waste fee included on the annual tax notices. These decals will be mailed out.
“We are implementing this to minimize the expense of handling solid waste for Dillon County citizens residing in the unincorporated areas of the county,” said County Administrator Clay Young.
Residents of the city and towns who wish to use the sites may also purchase a decal for $90 from the Dillon County Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the Dillon City-County Complex.
Those who pay the fee and need additional decals may get those free from the auditor’s office, but will be required to provide proof of residence and vehicle ownership.
