A teenager was killed after he collided with a car on December 26th, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as Triston Loomis, age 15, of Aynor. Grimsley said Loomis was here with his grandparents in Dillon.
Lance Corporal Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. on December 26th on Highway 9 West, about one and a half miles west of the City of Dillon.
Collins said a 1999 four-door Ford car, driven by a 43-year-old North Carolina man, was traveling east on Highway 9 when a pedestrian darted out in front of the vehicle.
The pedestrian and the vehicle “collided” causing the death of the pedestrian. Collins said no charges are expected to be filed.
