The Dillon Christian School Warriors were on the road in Bennettsville on Friday, December 14, to face the Marlboro Academy Dragons for a 70-30 loss.

The Dragons outscored the Warriors 15-9 and 15-8 in the first half to lead 30-17. But the third quarter put the game beyond the Warriors’ reach as Marlboro added 27 points to Dillon’s 5, jumping ahead 57-22. A 13-8 fourth quarter sealed the win for Marlboro, who remain undefeated.

Will Bundy scored 17 points for Marlboro Academy and Malcolm Calhoun added 15. Stephen Andrews scored 11 points; Sam Pruitt, 7; John Beaty, 5; Chase Bruner, 5; Chris Sweeney, 4; Scott Bruner, 3; Walton Calhoun, 2; and John Rhett Covington, 1.

Jim Carr led Dillon Christian with a team-high 10 points. Mark Minges added eight, Matt Jordan scored five, Matthew Price earned four, and John Michael Price added three.

The Warriors are now 1-7 in the regular season while Marlboro Academy improves to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in SCISA Region 4-2A.

The Warriors will be off until Tuesday, January 8, when they are scheduled to travel to face Robert E. Lee with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
