Services for Robert A. Winkeler was held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pyerian Baptist Church.  Burial with full military and caisson honors will be held in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Winkeler, 74, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Ironton, Missouri, September 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Alphonse Richard Winkeler and Lucille Gross Winkeler.  He was a member of Pyerian Baptist Church, and was a retired U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and two tours in the Vietnam War.  He received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his sons, Mark (Denise) Winkeler, Robin (Elaine) Winkeler, Alan Winkeler, Kevin (Tammy) Winkeler, and David (Amy) Winkeler, all of Floydale; grandchildren, Jackson Winkeler, Adrienne Winkeler, Matthew Winkeler, Ethan Winkeler, Molly Rogers, Emily Winkeler, Justin Winkeler, and Megan Winkeler; sisters and brothers, Helen (Terry) Downer, Tom (Frieda) Winkeler, Paul (Dorothy) Winkeler, Frances (Terry) Goodman, Martha (Don) Reed, and Mary (John) Joseph.
Mr. Winkeler was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Jackson Winkeler; and his grandson, Markie Winkeler.
