Lillian Evelyn Ellis Benton, 87, died at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Thursday, October 18, 2012 in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon, SC, with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
Mrs. Benton was born February 3, 1925 in Kingstree, SC the daughter of the late Everett E. and Jewell Brockington Ellis. She retired as Postmaster of the Post Office in Floyd Dale, SC. She was a member of Mount Andrew United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Benton of the home; daughters, Deborah B. (Randy) Spinks of High Point, NC and Jewell Benton of the home; a brother, Pete Ellis of Kingstree, SC; a sister, Elizabeth Rogers of Huntington, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, and Caitlin Spinks of High Point, NC.
