Ruth Davis Blackmon Long, 86, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, SC, October 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Monroe Davis, Sr. and Martha Young Davis. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was retired from Dixiana Mills. She was first married to the late Albert Langley Blackmon, and then to the late Ishmael Worth Long.
Survivors include her children, Regina (Michael) Hamilton of Dillon, Jimmy (Teresa) Blackmon of West Virginia, and Mary Davis of Rowland, NC; daughter-in-law, Kristine Blackmon of Bedford, TX; sister, Esther Moody of Savannah, GA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her son, Alton Blackmon.
