The Dillon City Council approved the 2012-2013 budget at their June meeting.
The general fund budget is $5,216,428. The water and sewer fund budget is $3,441,452. The budget does not include any fee or tax increases.
This year’s budget will allow the city to pay off two loans-one for a fire truck and one for an equipment purchase.
There will be a $600 salary increase across the board for full-time employees plus longevity pay if it applies.
There is about a $100,000 increase in employee costs.
There is a retirement increase of one percent for normal employees and one-half percent for police. This is mandated by the state.
There is a health insurance increase of $42 per employee for a total of approximately $47,000.
It was noted that there was a decrease in state aid and local option sales tax funds.
