American Legion Post #32 would like to thank all the sponsors of Palmetto Boys State delegates. Because of their generosity five young men will be going to Anderson College in Anderson, SC, June 10th through the 16th, 2012. The tuition for each is $300. An estimated 900 high school juniors from South Carolina attend each year.
The legionnaire officers interview students from Dillon Christian School, Dillon High School, and Latta High School. The guidance counselors from each school choose the boys, according to their potential and level of interest in attending Boys State. This year we interviewed eighteen students; with monies received we were pleased to select five of them. These students are Tanner Hansen Nygaard (DCS), Braylan Ford (DHS), Hunter Adams (DHS), Christopher Stiles (LHS), and Smith Gaddy (LHS).
Proudly listed are the 2012 sponsors, totaling $1500:
First Bank
Coach Jackie Hayes
The Schafer Foundation
Commercial Diesel Service
Dillon County Council
