Services for Howard Evan “Cannon” “Pow Wow” Kersey were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tart Cemetery. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Mr. Kersey, 68, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, January 4, 1944, he was the son of the late Henry Evan Kersey and Hattie Arlene Nolan Kersey. He was a member of Oak Grove Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Kersey of Sellers; son, Christopher Howard Kersey of Sellers; sisters, Jean (Woodrow) Lane, Joyce Cook, Shirley (Mack) Small all of Latta, Sarah (Willie) Barfield of Bennettsville, Marie (Ed) Lane of Latta; brothers, E.J. Kersey of NC, and Clarence (Barbara) Kersey of Latta; 36 nephews & nieces; 25 great nephews & Nieces; 10 great-great nephews & nieces.
Mr. Kersey was preceded in death by his brother, J. T. Nolan.
