The Latta Vikings and Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators both stayed alive in the playoffs last night with big wins.

The Vikings took down Hannah-Pamplico 11-2 in the Class A District V baseball playoffs, with seven runs in the fourth inning securing the win. Jeremy Jenkins picked up the win, and Josh Bown, Donell Stanley, and Ben Scott each got two hits for Latta. The Vikings will now face the Red Raiders at Bamberg-Ehrhardt on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators shut out Allendale-Fairfax 17-0 in three innings to stay alive in the Class A District VII softball playoffs. Morgan Herlong picked up the win on the mound, allowing just three hits, while Kayla Sanderson went 4-for-4 and Chelsea Spivey and Kayce Wong each went 2-for-2. Lake View will travel to face East Clarendon on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
