Diversified Plastics Inc., a maker of material handling containers and carts, today announced plans to expand its current manufacturing facility in Dillon County. The $2.5 million investment is expected to generate 15 new jobs.
DPI has upgraded its rotational molding facility, located at 1309 S.C. Hwy 917 West, in Latta, over the past couple of years and the company plans to further expand its operations. The expansion will allow DPI to increase the capacity of its facilities and will also involve adding new tooling for an additional product line.

Council Approves Agreement
At a Dillon County Council meeting on Wednesday, the council approved an ordinance authorizing a fee-in-lieu of tax arrangement and the provision of certain infrastructure tax credits for the benefit of Diversified Plastics, Inc., pursuant to a fee-in-lieu of tax agreement between the county and the corporation and other matters relating to the foregoing.
At the meeting, it was stated that the company would receive a 25% tax credit on the new part only and a six percent assessment rate for the $2.5 million investment and creation of 15 jobs.
