A drug raid was held Friday around lunch at a residence on Highway 301 in the town limits of Latta in the school zone, according to Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore. The Latta Police Department, Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon City and SLED worked together on the case and raid. The subject arrested was Patrick Rowell, who was on the scene. A drug raid was held Friday around lunch at a residence on Highway 301 in the town limits of Latta in the school zone, according to Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore.
The Latta Police Department, Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon City and SLED worked together on the case and raid.
Latta Police Department had received several complaints about this residence, which resulted in an investigation into the matter.
The subject arrested was Patrick Rowell, age 27, 409 North Richardson Street, Latta, who was on the scene. Money, guns including a sawed off shotgun and rifle, and drugs were seized including marijuana, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and soma-carisoprodol. A white powder substance, a brownish grain-like substance, and two bottles of a red liquid substance were also seized . Drug paraphernalia including smoking pipes, bags, and scales were also discovered. Several items were sent to SLED for analysis.
Around 19 warrants were served by the departments, Moore said.
Participating in the raid were from the Latta Police Department-Chief Moore, Bobby Jones, Derrick Cartwright, and Andy Britt; Dillon City Officers-Mark Vereen, Allen Turner, and Jamie Hamilton, Dillon County Sheriff’s Office-Robbie Bucy, Tim George, Melvin Lee, Kim Brumble, and Zane Bryant; and SLED-Agent Creech.
