The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Hemingway Tigers 15-2 on Friday in Hemingway in a mercy-rule shortened outing.
Hemingway coach Marty Avant said he knew the Tigers would take a hit from the powerhouse Wild Gators, and decided to field some of his eighth and ninth grade players to allow them to gain experience.
“When Lake View comes in,” he said, “ they’re always fundamentally sound.” He said the Tigers need to improve on the simple plays in order to be competitive.
