The Dillon Wildcats defeated Loris 3-2 in their second regular season outing on Thursday night at Loris.
Loris got onto the board first with a run in the bottom of the third, but Dillon tied things at 1-1 with a run in the fourth, and took a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Loris got their second run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 2-2, forcing an eighth inning, where Dillon added one run to get the win.
Jamie Callahan led the Wildcats at bat, going 2-for-3 with a walk. The Wildcats had eight hits in the win, while Loris had just two.
Austin Hord and Korbin Causey each went 1-for-3 to lead Loris. Causey hit a double and scored one run, while Abraham Watts ran in the Lions only other run.
Callahan picked up the win on the mound, pitching seven innings and allowing only three hits and one walk, striking out 13. Kwinton Smith got the save, striking out two in one inning pitched.
Causey took the loss for Loris, pitching 7.1 innings and allowing seven hits, three runs, three earned runs, and two walks, while striking out three.
The Wildcats are now 1-1 in the regular season and 1-0 in Region 8-2A.
Tonight, the Wildcats will host the Marion Swamp Foxes, and on Monday, Dillon hosts Andrews. Both games start at 6:30 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local team!
