The Dillon Wildcats will open the regular season of soccer action on Thursday, March 8, with a non-conference game at Marlboro County High School.

Last season, Dillon made it to the second round of playoffs, where they were eliminated 4-3 by the Academic Magnet Raptors. The Raptors went on to fall to Bishop England in the lower state finals, while Bishop England proceeded to claim the the state championship title with a 3-1 win over Gilbert.

The Wildcats ended the 2011 season with a 14-8 overall record and an 8-2 record in Region 8-AA. Both region losses came from the Waccamaw Warriors, who were also eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.

The Wildcats open the season with one game next week, but the second week of the 2012 season will be packed, beginning with the Wildcats first home game of the season on Tuesday, March 13, when they are scheduled to host Loris.

The following day, March 14, Dillon will host South Florence in a non-league match, and then on March 15, the Wildcats will be on the road to face Marion. The Wildcats will wrap the week on Friday, March 16, when they host Mullins.
