Services for John C. “Sam” Campbell will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Mr. Campbell, 91, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Dundee Nursing Home in Bennettsville.
Born in Dillon County, November 4, 1920, he was the son of the late John Harley Campbell and Hela Sanderson Campbell. He was a member of Dothan Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Campbell of Dillon; daughter, Geraldine Campbell of Dillon; step-daughter, Diane Corbett of Latta; step-son, Charles Hughes of Conway; grandchildren, James Christopher Campbell, Tammy Richardson, Laura Campbell, Sharon Rowell, Scott Campbell, and Robin Godbolt; great-grandchildren, Amber Richardson, Justin Richardson, Blake Gardner, Ian Rowell, Alexa Godbolt, Amanda Godbolt, and Jordan Godbolt.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his sons, Earl Campbell and Johnny Campbell.
