The Dillon County Council elected a new chairman and vice-chairman at their meeting on Wednesday.
The council is allowed to take this vote by secret ballot.
Councilman Aron Gandy was elected chairman.
Gandy received four votes and Councilman Archie Scott received three votes.
Councilman Joe Johnson was elected vice-chairman. Johnson received four votes, Harold Moody received one vote, Andrew Graves received one vote, and Archie Scott received one vote.
Gandy thanked the council for electing him chairman and said he hoped he would do a good job.
