The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control continues to accept nominations for its fourth annual Earth Day Awards, the agency announced today.
Any individual, family, student, school, community, nonprofit organization, business or government agency that helped protect South Carolina’s environment in 2011 can be nominated.
Programs or projects such as clean air initiatives, energy and water conservation, waste reduction and recycling, green building, pollution prevention, or other environmentally friendly efforts should be featured prominently in nominations.
There is no entry fee. Nominations must be submitted electronically by noon on Feb. 10.
The awards ceremony will be held in April.
