The Dillon Christian School Warriors defeated the visiting The King’s Academy Lions 71-56 on Tuesday.
The Warriors got off to a strong start with a 21-14 first quarter and went 15-9 in the second to lead 36-23 at the half. Both teams added 11 points in the third, and a fierce fourth quarter ended with Dillon Christian adding 24 points to the Lions’ 23 for the 71-56 win.
Kin Melvin led all scorers with a game-high 28 points for Dillon Christian, along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Neil Melvin delivered 15 points, with Tyler Davis adding 13 and Will Brown earning 11. Jeremiah Cribb and Landry Collins each added two points in the win.
The King’s Academy was led by Christopher Dean with a team-high 22 points. Hunter Haynes and Ryan Gowler each added nine, Zach Clements earned seven, and Tony Zheng scored five, with Michael Graham and Dylan Bryant each earning two points for the Lions.
Dillon Christian’s record improves to 6-10 overall and 5-3 in SCISA Region 4-AA.
On Friday, Dillon Christian School will host The Byrnes Schools beginning with junior varsity action at 4:00 p.m. On Tuesday, January 24, the Warriors will be on the road to take on Williamsburg Academy, and on Friday, January 27, Dillon Christian will be hosting Marlboro Academy. Both of those games start with junior varsity action at 4:00 p.m., followed by varsity acton at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
