The Lady Wildcats fell to Mullins 59-53 on Friday night in Dillon’s first region loss of the season.

The Lady Wildcats got off to a good start, outscoring the Lady Auctioneers 13-5 in the first quarter. But Mullins rallied to go 19-12 in the second, cutting Dillon’s lead to 25-24. A close third quarter saw the Wildcats add 17 points to Mullins’ 16, giving Dillon a two-point lead heading into the fourth. The two teams battled for the lead throughout the final period, but Mullins ultimately outscored Dillon 19-11 to claim the 59-53 win.

Chelsea Frazier led Dillon with a game-high 44 points. Jessica Swindler added five, with Briana Lee and Khadejhia Sellers each adding two.

Mullins was led by Brittany Rowell with a team-high 22 points and Jaleah Lasane with 14. Cassie Phillips earned 10 points, Niesha Godfrey added nine, and Anisa Gilcrist and Britani McDonald each added two.

Dillon falls to 11-4 for the season with a 1-1 record in Region 8-AA. Mullins improves to 7-6 with a 2-0 region record.

Tonight, the Lady Wildcats are scheduled to take on Marion and on Friday, the Wildcats take on Loris. Both region games will be in Dillon beginning at 6:00 p.m.
