Gilbert Raymond George, 71, died in the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC, January 4, 2012. Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. Graveside Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, SC.  Mr. George was born in Marion County August 10, 1940 the son of the late Raymond B. and Flora Mae Nobles George.
He was a retired Boiler Tender with Oak River Mills where he worked for many years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Helen George of the home; his sons, Timothy M. (Kimberly) George, Ray (Tracy) George, and Roy (Tera) George and his daughter, Amanda George all of Latta, SC; his sister, Julia Calcutt of Pamplico, SC; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lucinda George and sisters, Helen Cox, Rena McDonald, and Shelby Evans.
